Reading Study

Thank you for taking part. In this study you will read a series of short English sentences, one word at a time, at your own natural pace.

The study takes about 10–15 minutes. Please complete it in one sitting, in a quiet place.

On a phone, please hold it upright (portrait) and keep this page open until the end.

If you close the page by accident, simply open the same link again in the same browser and you will continue where you left off.

Instructions

  1. Each sentence first appears as a row of blank lines, one line per word. Every time you press the Space bartap the screen, the next word is shown and the previous one disappears.
  2. Read at your normal pace, and make sure you understand each word before moving on.
  3. After some sentences, a Yes / No question about the sentence you just read will appear. Click the answer (or press Y / N).Tap your answer.
